My name's Amanda, and Purple Pod is my creation - Thanks for taking the time to check it out.
I was born in Kinsale, Co. Cork, the "gourmet capital of Ireland" and grew up in a family surrounded by farming, fishing and food.
I earned a degree in Biology & Theology and was a teacher for over ten years. I have travelled extensively, working in Africa, Israel and USA along the way. I retrained in Culinary Arts, and after topping the class, I went to work in Selfridge's, Harrod's and Jamie Oliver's.
After moving to my current home in Hove, Sussex, I put everything I learned into my business and Purple Pod was established.
Purple Pod came about after I realised that my love of strong flavours was also appreciated by people I cooked for. I started out making sauces, and I eventually extended my line to add freshly-produced oils, with garlic, chilli and seaweed. The sauces are wholesome and nutritious, made by sourcing the finest local ingredients and individually producing and bottling each and every product.
